Our History

When my father inherited the farm, it became his sanctuary, a place where he could connect with the earth and work alongside my mother andtheir employees. Together, they cultivated the land, planted, and harvested, developing a deep passion for coffee growing. He invested in enhancing the farm’s quality, collaborating with engineers, and renamed it Finca La Misericordia. Their efforts led to their coffee being recognized in the prestigious Cup of Excellence in Nicaragua.

As we transitioned to specialty coffee production, my parents obtained an export license to sell directly to the U.S., founding Maria Coffee Exports. Rebecca later joined the industry, working at a specialty coffee company and developing a bond with her father over the craft. She initiated the family’s first direct trade partnership with Axum Coffee in Winter Garden, building more relationships in the U.S.

The idea of opening a coffee shop was a long-standing family dream. After Rebecca’s father passed, she and her mother worked to make it a reality, founding Stemma Craft Coffee in Orlando. Stemma honors generations of family dedication to coffee, showcasing the journey from handpicked beans to specialty brews, while impacting communities in Nicaragua and Orlando.
